Paleo Breakfast: Primal Green Smoothie

A man on the go, sometimes I have to wake up early and either don’t have time to cook, or am just flat out too tired and lazy to cook. I’m sure you can relate.

Nitrate free bacon and organic cage-free eggs are a delicious and paleo friendly breakfast, but between prep, cook and clean-up time, sometimes it’s just not an option on an already-behind-schedule Monday morning. Fact: The snooze button is most frequently used on Monday mornings.

Awhile back I wrote up a few Paleo breakfast ideas for y’all. Well here’s another I recently invented through thousands of trials and many tribulations… Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit, but the point is, this is a rockin’ smoothie that is ideal for paleo followers with busy agendas. It’s an absolute firecracker of a breakfast, and an ideal post-workout shake. It’ll boost your mood, energy, as well as health.

Introducing: The Primal Green Machine Smoothie.

The Primal Green Machine Smoothie

For you visual learners out there

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. unsweetened coconut or almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 dried date, pitted
  • 1/2 cup (handful) frozen blueberries
  • 2 cups raw spinach leaves
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth, green and delicious. Add ice cubes as needed for “milkshakier” consistency. (Yeah, I know it’s not a word – but you get it)

This is a surprisingly filling smoothie. Play with it to fit your tastes and nutritional needs but it’s basically perfect so don’t mess with it too much! It contains nothing but clean ingredients and no junk. By adopting Paleo eating, efficient exercise, and a few top secret nutritional tactics such as Eat Stop Eat, you’ll be well on your way to that killer Hollywood physique.

Oh… maybe a scoop of raw almond butter in there wouldn’t be a bad idea! :)Cheers!
